Have you ever had a conversation that made you lose sleep? Maybe with a coworker, your boss, a friend, or even someone you’re dating? One of those talks where you feel totally defeated, upset, or just frustrated?

I think we’ve all been there. It’s easy to say, “You can’t control how others act, only how you react…” but actually reacting the right way, the godly way—it’s not always that simple.

It’s in these moments we really need to turn to Christ and ask, “Have mercy on me.”. When we ask for mercy, we’re acknowledging that we mess up, that we fall short, and we need his grace to get us through. It’s a humble plea, an act of trust in his ability to forgive and heal. It’s faith in his love and his power to restore us, even when we feel like we're at our breaking point.

Now, think about this—what if you’re the only person showing this individual who Christ is? What if your words and actions reflect Christ, not frustration or anger? What if, instead of jumping to conclusions, we actually took time to listen? What if we let God work through us during that conversation, using us as a vessel of His mercy and grace?

In the end, every conversation is an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love, patience, and mercy—even when it’s hard. The way we respond to others can be a powerful testimony of God's grace working in our lives.

So, the next time you find yourself in a tough conversation, pause and remember: ask Christ for mercy, let him guide your words, and allow him to use that moment to shine his light through you. You might just be the example of his love someone needs to see.
