Jesus Said… PUT IT DOWN.

Have you ever realized that whenever you start to draw closer to God, something seems to go wrong? Maybe a job opportunity slips away, a relationship ends, you lose a loved one, or experience hurt within the church you attend or with family—the list goes on. This happens because Satan fears the person you’re meant to become in God's eyes. Yes, read that again!

We live in a world defined by "cancel culture" and division. Our society often encourages us to cut ties with those who have hurt us, even if they are people we love and who love us back. Instead of nurturing those relationships, we sometimes choose to walk away due to pain and hurt. But Jesus is saying, “Sis, let it go.” Place it at the feet of Jesus Christ. His love is pure, intentional, and forgiving. I strive to share that same type of love, kindness and forgiveness with others, even when it’s challenging. 

It’s easy to hold onto hurt and resentment but letting go opens the door to healing and peace. When we truly understand the depth of Christ’s love, we’re inspired to extend that love to those around us. It means offering grace to those who have wronged us and choosing compassion over anger. It’s a daily decision to reflect His heart in our interactions, no matter how difficult.

I know what you’re thinking… “But they hurt me! They’re rude! They bring toxic energy and chaos!” I get it; mostly we've all experienced relationships like that. Jesus established boundaries—believe me, He had them. Still, He forgave, loved, and didn’t hold onto anger toward those who wronged Him. That’s the core message. In a world where cancel culture and division are common, we frequently face anger, hate, and bitterness, but that’s not the way we should choose to walk.

Each time we release our burdens to Him, we create space for peace and connection. Letting go doesn’t mean we forget; it means we trust God to handle our pain and guide us forward. As we embrace His love, we become channels of that love in a world that truly needs it. So, let’s take a deep breath, surrender our struggles, and move forward in faith, sharing the transformative love of Jesus with everyone we encounter. In the story of Job, he starts as a man who seemingly has it all—family, land, cattle, and great success. Satan argued that Job’s loyalty to God was only due to the blessings he received. In response, God allowed Satan to take everything from Job except his life. As a result, Job lost his family, possessions, and health. Throughout this ordeal, Job’s friends urged him to be angry with God for his suffering. However, Job replied, “I can’t curse God. I must remain faithful.” On his knees, he prayed, “Why is this happening to me?” God responded, “Who are you to question me? Am I not the creator of everything?”

The key takeaway is that God will test you through suffering, challenges, and difficult times, and that’s when the authenticity of your faith is revealed. It’s not during moments of ease or when your life is overflowing with blessings. When you face hardship and confusion, do you find yourself cursing God or blessing Him? In times of pain and division, when it feels like there’s no other option, remember Job’s story. Even when everything is stripped away, God remains the answer. His love is the only way forward.
